A LITTLE ABOUT THE SHELTER:
The Miramichi SPCA:
- opened in 2005 and is a private, independent, not-for-profit organization that is fully-funded by local and online fundraisers, donations from the community (individual and corporate), special events, and merchandise sales.
- is not a government agency.
- does not receive funding from federal or provincial governments.
- is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency.
DID YOU KNOW?
We are a NO KILL shelter, which means we do not euthanize healthy animals to free up space and will take on challenging medical and cruelty cases. Veterinary care is expensive - everything from vaccines, flea & tick medication, spay/neuter surgeries, medication, and especially emergency veterinary visits, are all paid for without government support.
The shelter staff, board members, and animals would like to extend a very big thank you to the businesses, organizations, schools, and community members who generously give their time, energy, goods, and/or money to support us. Without your donations, we would not be able to help the countless stray, abandoned, lost, and abused animals.
THANK YOU!
